Filtration Technologies

Filtration pretreatment is designed for durable operation, easy installation, and straightforward control. The system ideal for your industrial filtration needs with epoxy-lined carbon steel vessels, robust materials of construction, and various configuration options to suit your specific application needs. The units are also the perfect complement to the Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.

Ion Exchange Systems

Ion exchange technology is a proven method of producing high purity softened and demineralized water. It is used in most industries that require high purity water and to reclaim water from processes. The Ion exchange process involves the exchanging of contaminant ions for Na+ ions in a softening application and H+ and OH- ions in pure water application. Thermotics offers a range of ion exchange products for applications, including condensate and brine polishing, vacuum degassing, and desalination.

Electrolytic (ED/EDI/EDR) Technologies

SUEZ systems are a revolutionary approach to electrodeionization (EDI) that replaces conventional mixed-bed technology to offer a host of dramatic benefits. No regeneration chemicals are needed; no hazardous waste stream is produced; operation is continuous with consistent and predictable water quality, and facility requirements are substantially reduced.
  • Provide Ultrapure Water for industrial applications including Power, Semiconductor, and General Industry.
  • Continuous production of demineralized water.
  • Produce Mixed Bed quality water on a continuous basis.
  • Require no caustic or acid for regeneration of ion exchange resin within the stack.
  • Eliminate brine injection and concentrate recirculation, simplifying system design.
  • Directly connected RO and EDI system to eliminate the need for RO permeate storage, pumping and filtration before the EDI unit: reduced potential for external contamination.
  • Automated flow control for RO and EDI using energy saving variable frequency drives (VFD).
  • Internal recycles to increase total water yield.
  • Meet stringent silica limitations.
  • Reduced volume of waste effluent compared to resin technologies and minimal storage and handling of bulk chemicals / salt.

Reverse Osmosis Packages

Reverse osmosis (RO) membrane elements use a strong pressure gradient to drive water through a semi-permeable membrane, while leaving salts and other larger molecules behind. These elements are used for desalination of brackish waters and seawater, as well as recovery of industrial and municipal wastewater. Our portfolio includes RO elements certified for food contact for dairy, sugar, and other sanitary applications, as well as NSF-certified elements for municipal water treatment.

Ultrafiltration Packages

Versatile and reliable, the pressurized ZeeWeed 1500 is ideally suited for use in numerous applications including drinking water treatment, tertiary filtration and RO pre-treatment for brackish water and seawater. Compared to granular filter media, ZeeWeed membranes produce superior water quality and are virtually unaffected by variable raw water quality – all at a cost comparable to conventional filtration technology.
Typical Applications

  • Water treatment.
  • Tertiary filtration.
  • Pretreatment for seawater desalination.
